(Don't) Ride to Work Day

Terrible storms overnight, chilly morning, gusts and rains ...cycle paths were a ghost town on Ride To Work Day.

My weather threshhold for running is very high - happy to do it rain hail or shine. Basically, battled nasty gusts and pouring rain for 50 min, and loved every second. I even picked up a few food freebies at Milson's Point - suppose to be only for cyclists but hey, a guy's gotta eat.

Ride to Work Set-up at Milson's Point.... free food

Extended the morning run by another 2km around the Rocks, covering shy of 10km 5:25 min/km pace.  I must say legs today felt the best (for a Wednesday) in a few months. Possibly because of my half-baked tempo yesterday.

Returned late from a meeting, so was unable to join the HuRTS crew at lunch. Started at the Domain, followed the water around to the Opera House and extended this to the piers at Walsh Bay before turning around at the Macquarie Building on Shelly Street. Legs felt better and better and by the end, covered 12km at 4:30 min/km pace. Spent quite a lot of the early stages dodging Corp Cup runners including the M-BA guys.

Daily summary - solid 22km, legs feeling a lot better than should be the case.
